According to this video http://www.gametrailers.com/player/20027.html the game will be optimized using those cpu's. For crysis i think i would buy a quad core QX6600 but i dont know about older game. I heard some game are having problem whit the quad core, like Call of duty 2.

I dont know what to buy between a QX6600 or a core duo 6800 Extreme.

What do you think?

damn the Quad is like $1300 here in aus:( soon ur going to have to win lotto before u can build a gaming pc that will play games

What they mean with the word 'optimised' is that the game has been coded to use 4 cores. This doesn't mean you get a 400% performance increase over a single core, as most of the game code will be single threaded ie NOT able to be spread over multiple cores.

Exactly, It's mostly propaganda. They're trying to get people with money to run out and buy a quad, when in actuality you really wouldn't notice much difference with your dual-core.

Buy a Quad when you need one, or when it's cheap. You shouldn't trust a marketing scheme to make up your mind for you. ;)

yeah so apparantly you might run out of ram even running 2gb :D

would they be talking about 800Mhz ram?

the main thing im worried about is not not being able to play crysis but the games that will follow crysis will obviously start having the same requirements if not higher..

The QX6700 yes but the QX6600 is a lot cheaper. Here in Canada, the QX6600 is 257$ and there's gonna be a price drop July 22.

But the e6800Extreme is also optimized for crysis and it's dual core. I just dont know about the price. Plus, it even beat the QX6600 in some applications!!!
