Crysis Rigged? Run on 8800GT

I'm running Crysis on the system in my sig. I'm getting around 26fps. The low framerate is playable but slightly noticeable. As you might be able to tell from the graphics card im not running at full graphics especially since I'm running it at my monitors full 1680 x 1050 resolution. If I was to get a 512mb 8800GT on the below system, do you think I'd be able to run it at very high settings without too much of a slow framerate, so far the only thing lacking is the GPU after monitoring system specs as I play, but I s'pose this could change as I increase graphics

yeah, a new video card would help, but dont expect max settings with it.
very high settings should be attainable :)

i have an 8800GT and I play crysis in High settings without a problem. but u might need to upgrade the rams, 1.5 is not that good.

Yeah I'm planning on upgrading to an 8800GT to play Crysis. At the moment I can play crysis on medium with my 7900GT.

The video card isn't the only factor. Crysis does use two cores of your CPU, you would want to overclock that to atleast 3.0GHz. You will also want atleast 2GB of memory, preferably two 1GB sticks both running at atleast 800MHz in dual channel mode.

One other thing, I'll be getting a 500GB hard drive soon and I was wondering if the current FPS I'm getting would be affected if I was to upgrade/downgrade to Vista. I got it a while ago but wasn't happy with it, but my system wasn't as good as it is now and I figured I'd wait until I got the new drive. I noticed the required settings said you needed 1.5GB of RAM in Vista so I would be just scraping in, without taking into consideration the fact that there are other processes using memory.

lol im running vista home premium with an overclocked 3400, and an X800GTO flashed to an X850XT and run Oblivion maxed out with 2AA 16AF 1280/1024, and i was never able to do that in XP, so theres gotta be something up. oh and i also have 1.5 gigs, i have never needed any more so far.
