Crysis Veterans...I need help

I finally decided to get Crysis because people won't shut up about it and I am having some issues.

Do you guys use the 'auto detect' settings for graphics or do you enter manually?

The game keeps locking up and I'm not understanding why...also the screen is choppy in the middle during cutscenes and fast action..

help!..I'm a crysis nooob!
 
I always do it manually, that way you can ajust it better. Im not sure why your game is choppy (looking at your hardware). Maybe you have something interfearing with it (background apps for example) also crysis was origanally supposed to be ran on nvidia cards as new drivers have come out to help crysis's performance in particular.
what settings are u actually running it on mate?

Well, I used auto detect and it put everything on 'very high' and my res at 1920x 1080

Something is definately wrong cause it plays choppy for a bit and then just freezes.

..I know thats not true as I have seen a number of ATI systems running crysis perfectly.

Yeah...

Hell I put it all on low at 800x600 and it was obviously choppy..but still froze up..

I can't figure it out..

I just played GRID and Fable and Half-Life on perfect high settings..and all were beautiful, smooth, and no issues.

Is it possible my copy of Crysis is bad?

I got it from a reputable local electronic shop.
 
I have a number of things to work on with my rig tomorrow..

I will attempt to get this all sorted out...I also plan to be back above 4ghz tomorrow..
 
Okay, problem solved.

Stupid patch was not working and made the v-sync not fucntion. It would keep going all glitchy and then freeze...I inistalled patch 1.2.1 and reinstalled from new source and its perfect now.

What a difference with 1 gpu and then crossfire!!

first game I have really noticed a big upgrade when using crossfire.
