I hated far cry 2, fear 2 and they were both recommended to me. Is crysis worth a buy? does it have a good plot?

I loved Half Life and Half Life 2

what do you guys think?

I know the graphics are really good but I dont want that to be a reason just to play a game

Get the demo, the story is fine, I usually don't ask for much in an FPS story. It isn't going to be as good as the Half Life storyline. So far I have yet to see a game with a storyline like the Half Life story. Crysis is definitely fun though.

Yeah crysis is realy good,Im not a fan of teh Multiplayer though....But i have not tried the newer Crysis wars or whatever its called so that could be good.

I recommend you download the demo like mentioned, and if you like it get the maximum edition....has Crysis + Crysis warhead +Crysis wars

Its quite cheap over here in the uk,I think i seen it for £17 the other day.

This game has next to now replay value though. It is fun for a while, but then it gets old, IMO. A game like COD4 is way better.

Oh it was amazing, great graphics, great story, excellent gameplay, the only problem is as Elimin8or mentions, it's only fun to play through once or twice

I reckon it's fun to play more than twice, because it does start to get pretty darn hard once you start on the Hard or Very Hard ('Delta') and there are less things that you can do, so it makes it harder e.g: In easy and normal, when you are driving a car you can control the turret, you get binoculars and the koreans speak english, so you know what they are saying and can tell if they are on to you, in hard and delta, you get none of these things, so it makes it quite difficult to tell.

Multiplayer is quite better than COD4 as well, because of the fact you need to buy your weapons with points you earn in the actual server, so it's quite fair, plus much more, like planes and helicopters.

And the Sandbox Editor is fun to make your own maps and do whatever you want :D

funky how much did it cost to build that system you have? wo monitor?

erm good question...

cpu £190 second hand
ram £120
motherboard £160
psu £70
hard drive 16mb 74gig raptor £50
second hard drive 74gig 8mb raptor £40
4890 £169
dvd sata drive £35
antec 1200 £130
liquid cooling £240

i have a second 4890 coming and a bigger psu so i could add another £320

Sorry for going off topic...

I would have shoved a Blue-Ray drive in that system Funky.

Don't usually play first person shooters, but I just bought it to see why it seems to be a benchmark among gamers and to see how my rig handles it. Gotta say it's pretty amazing graphics - Best I've seen, but I don't game much. But, good Lord, it gives even a good system a workout. Gets a little choppy on Ultra high (1680 X 1050), but plays very well on High. I've been glued to the monitor for up to 3-4 hours at a time trying to get through a tough level.

I've had lots of fun with the game but I never seem to be able to get through it before I have to reformat or some bullshit so I have yet to beat it and end up playing over the first few levels. Have done it about 5 times now and since my recent hard drive failure will have to do so again, but it will be a month or so before I will because I really don't feel up to it.

I would honestly say it's a great buy. I bought the collector's edition because I had assassin's creed preordered for $60 for the 360 then decided I wanted Crysis and gamestop sucks and wouldn't be able to give me cash back and the collector's edition was $60 so I got it.

If you do get it definitely get the ultimate edition. I really wish I didn't already own it so I could buy that version.
