CS:S hack question

Hi all,

I have a question reguarding stupid people who use Hacks in CS:S.

I see on Youtube/Google video that alot of people are using hacks in the game....Well doesnt CS:S have punkbuster built in to stop them or some anti cheat engine?

Why is it so easy for them to use hacks?

I ask this because im hopefully gonna be getting CS:S when i can get my hands on it....All sold out:rolleyes: and i dont wonna buy it if its just gonna be full of hackers and kill you all the time because there cheating.
 
It is true, a lot of people do use hacks. With games like CS:S valve have a system called VAC (Valve Anti Cheat) which works to some extent fairly well. Only some of the servers are VAC secured, most of the others WILL involve cheats at some point.

Obviously for a new starter, i would suggest playing with bots for a while first. That way you can get a feel as to how the player moves, the weapons, the key short cuts to quick change weapons. Re-loading techniques etc...

Then move onto one of the secured servers. Be warned that there are a ton of players on ALL servers with TON's of experience, they are very good

VAC does a great job with cheaters, they update very often so hacks are only good for a short while before VAC finds out about them.

For fun I actually tried an aimbot, and it was pretty fun, but wasnt worth getting banned over.

Yeah i will try out bots first before i begin to play amongst other people:D ,I do play alot of FPS anyway like Warrock,COD,etc.

Its good that you can but Half life 2 & get CS:S with it for only £20

Ive only played the demo of HL2 and i loved it.

Stay away from any 'Noob', 'Newb', 'Newbie' servers because most of the time, they're not..... or what they mean is that they won't care if they're kicking your butt...... Try to join clans' personal servers because a lot of time they're really helpful as a clan..... Try the stock server at http://www.doubleflux.com as a lot of times, the clan members will help you out if you're new to the game..... Although, I may warn you, that these are not 'noob' servers.......
 
ive been in alot of different servers.
and i havent seen a cheater, though ive been playing since October.
But youll have fun.

Im trying to get Half life 2 as you get CS:S included but cant get it....Also they dont have CS:S on its own either:D

Damn everything you want you cant get over here in the uk because our shops only stock about 5 :rolleyes:
 
You know you can buy it directly though Steam right? Then all you need to do is download the files and play.

You have to create an account to use steam so if he buys it from steam/valve, it's recorded that he bought it so he can re-download it whenever he wants...... You can, also, make game disks too through steam/valve but you really don't need to....

I never use my disks anymore because it usually downloads an updated version of CS:S through valve/steam....

Do you have Steam?

You create an account with Steam (mandatory for HL2, CSS, etc). And then you can download and play your games on any computer, you just download the Steam software from www.steampowered.com, download the game files, and then you can play.

You never need to use CD's again.

Hmm yeah i already know you can buy directly though Steam buy i never buy anything online,And probably never will.

I would prefer to just have the disks so its alot easier...Also to note that if i re-install windows i can re-install them straight from disk instead of downloading it all again from steam.;)
