CS:S Problem

I've been playing CS:S for a few weeks now no problem. I have recently been getting on and it has been unusually laggy. I have no idea what the problem is. I can see my grenades going but you'll see it in stages, hard to explain. Everyone that is running you see like every 4 steps but not the movement in between. It's really pissing me off and I can't figure out what's wrong. I tried uninstallating and reinstalling with no luck. I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or not... Any ideas? It might also be my router...
 
Yeah, Belkin routers are notoriously bad, as well as their sub-brand My Essentials. What brand is yours?
 
I have the same router as yours, when my internet suddenly becomes laggy, i went to check my wireless networks and found out that every time my internet slowing down, there is one other unsecured wireless network appearing. And when that network off line, my internet came back to normal speed. I think the router may conflict and knock each other out. Next time your system slow down, try to check if you have the same problem.
 
What rates are you using? Is your ping stablised? try rate 20000, cl_updaterate 100 and cl_cmdrate 100
 
I ping is the same as it used to be maybe like 10 higher than usual on that server it's like 52 or so on average. I'll try those rates and stuff.

The new rates seem to be working great, no lag so far. I'll let you know if anything changes. We also got a netgear router which I'll be hooking up in the next few days so everything should be good. Thanks for the help.

Linksys is very good i have one from 2 years and it's always on and i use to play cs:s on it and i dont lag but your is bad i had friend who have it and he doesnt like it neither it lag on his WoW game online.
