CS:S Question

When I play counter strike source, I use ventrilo to talk to a friend while I am playing. When I launch CS:S I can't talk tohim, my messages wont work over the mic. Does anyone know why its doing this? I am currently using Vista...
 
I think they talk over that prog cause you can talk when you are dead and the other is alive, effectively cheating.
 
Have you installed all your drivers for your Mic?

Made sure the Mic is set as the Default Voice Device?

Got the Volume or Mic actually turned on?

Dude, when ur died in counter-strike source u can still use mic and ithink everyoen hears it but when u type it says *DEAD*(your name) and then only dead people can talk... Someone correct me if i am wrong!
 
Skype is very easy to use, but can only support up to 5 people in one convorsation at once.

Are you double bound? meaning both your in game mic and ventrilo mic talk buttons are on the same button?

Also, it depends on the server as to wether or not people can hear when you're dead or alive.

sv_alltalk 0/1 i think.
 
on cs:s being alive or dead only makes a difference when you type
people who are live cant see what dead people type and vice versa

you can always here the mic unless you mute sombody
