How is it with lcd these days?

What do you mean you cant tell if its your team or an enemy? Can you take a screenshot and show us?

That looks like your standard 17" CRT, which i've used and had no problems. And LCD's are excellent, they've come along way.

Resolution is all a matter of performance and preference..... My desktop is at 1280x1024 but I have CS:Sand most of my games set at 1024x768...... Each higher resolution tries to fit more on the screen which, in turn makes objects smaller to accomodate everything...... Higher resolutions are meant to be displayed with larger screens because they in turn enlarge the image..... The reason why you might have trouble shooting the correct target is because you might be, figuratively, trying to shoot a fly off a wall in comparison with your resolution settings.......

Edit: There also may be other factors; like a slow/off hit registry which would accompany a slow server or your FPS may be to fast with your refresh rate, causing your screen to be 'off' or 'slow', of which enabling vsync or vertical sync should fix, which limits the max of FPS you have with your refresh rate........

Maybe its just his monitor, because I use to play CSS on a 17" CRT @ 1280x1024 and I could easily tell.

Perhaps your brightness and/or contrast is turned way down, so it looks like they're all wearing dark clothes.

That maybe another thing of which adjusting your in-game gamma might help distinguish people..... Another thing to help distinguish the difference between CT's and T's is the way the hold their guns..... CT's tend to hold their guns higher than T's........

Watching your radar and waiting for screen names to show doesn't hurt either.......

this is exactly what happens when i increase the resolutions everything becomes smallers like the words and numbers and textures etc.

try playing the game with AA and AF set to max. :)

the max aa i can set is 6x and AF 16x. the problem im having is i can see much better with 800 by something rather then 1024 by something. I notice its more clear with an lcd monitor how come? arent crts suppost to be more clear then lcds?

Most LCD's arent 1080p, but most are better then 720p.

However when you have a monitor thats 17", 19", etc, it's much smaller then say, a 40" 1080p TV. Quality is determined more on how many pixels per inch there are, not total pixels on the screen.
