I prefer the M4 when it's shooting over a distance, but the AK when up close, such as in the office map.

Overall I prefer the M4. It's more accurate, and when you use it right it's a headshot machine. I use a silencer in any map other than office usually. I mainly would use an AK when you're on T or when rushing (aim in the head area), otherwise it's not that great.

I love rocking with both of them.
Ak owns for 2 round burst.
M4 is a good all around weapon.

However if you really know how to use a AK, it will rock the m4.

I like them both the same, if I'm on CT's I always try to pick up an AK, and if I'm T always try to pick up an M4, just something I do, haha.

A question to add to the topic, does silencer on or off actually make a difference? Some people reckon silencer makes in more accurate, but less powerful, myself I don't notice a difference. Silencer just sounds much cooler.

i think the silencer makes it less accurate. if you cant tell from shooting it, just notice how the crosshairs get wider when you put it on

I've heard the more accurate, less powerful thing myself. It's published somewhere that adding the silencer decreases damage by either .4 or 4%, I'm not sure which as I've asked this question in game before and never got a straight answer. As for more accurate, I've experimented with this and haven't seen that much change. Try this...

Create or join an Office server and stand at varying distances from a white wall (easy to see bullet holes) fire about 3 rounds with silencer, 3 rounds without. Then try 5 rounds, then 10, then do a long burst or empty the clip. You'll see that the silencer really doesn't make that much of a difference. You can easily spend 15 minutes or more playing around with this. I do believe that at a distance either the recovery time or the accuracy increases so I always use the silencer on maps like Dust2 or Cobble. But in CQB, I'll take the extra 4% damage and go loud ;).
