CSS freezing

when i play CSS it freezes on me sometimes and il have to restart. anyone know what copuld be causing this and how to fix it? also i dont think im getting the fps i should be gettting. my fps fluctuates from 100-60 and sometimes go below that. i have a 7800gtx 490@1300mhz and the rest of the specs are in my sig. i have my setting all at high(the recomended settings).

r u kidding? did you see my specs? and it doesnt have CSS only HL2 which i passed.

i have the latest driver. im thinking it might be heat but it doesnt get that hot when i play, 70C which is well below the max 115C. ill see if i can get the Arctic cooling nv silencer 5 rev 3 and see if that helps.
 
Oh sorry. Did you update your video card? Like some video card has to update once a year. with the exact website.
 
anyone have any ideas on y its freezing? i played for about 1hr and it froze. then i restarted and immediatly played again for about 45min till it froze. then i did it again and froze within 5 mins and i got a BSOD that flashed for 2 secs and restarted itself. its getting annoying especially now that im in a clan. i cant have this happening during scrims.
 
i just had to get a new video card, was still under warrenty... and no more problems. Are you experienxing any other issues related to your video card? Have you dusted your computer recently?
 
no havnt dusted recently.
well im not sure if this pertains to the video card but i cant watch DVD's. can only hear them. but i can see videos from online or ones i have downloaded in my comp.

i hope its not the card. i dont want to send it back. its been like 3 months so i dont think its stil under warranty. ill look into it and see if i can just return it and get one of those 7900gtx's :D *fingers crossed*
 
I was having dvd issues a while ago, video but now sound... Turned out to be a conflict of codecs I believe... It works now.
 
anyone have anyideas on how to fix my CSS? it happened again today. i was playing then it froze, a BSOD flashed for a sec then restarted itself.
