Ctrl Key Not Responding?

Hi there , I have a laptop , and when I go to use Ctrl shortcuts , for example Ctrl and C/V , it doesn't work. Usually it will just type the C or the V. It has been working fine until now and I have not spilt anything on the keyboard , or dropped the laptop at any time. Would anyone be able to help me? :)

Thanks in advance , Adam.

How about using the other Ctrl key? Usually there are 2 of those buttons. And if there isn't just plug up a keyboard to the laptop until you figure it out.

No? Is that spare port a P2 connector (that is the name for the connector of a regular keyboard that can go in a desktop) or even if you have a USB keyboard that would be good. Of course if it is a P2 then you can just ask a friend to barrow one. I sure almost everyone has one more than they need. (I'v got 3 more than I need!)

But I don't want to be using a keyboard plugged in , I'd rather get my intergrated keyboard fixed.

Does anyone else have any ideas? I really need to get this fixed.

I've had to format my laptop a few times due to viruses I couldn't get rid of?

It's been like this for a couple of months , but now I've been needing to use the key more often , making it frustrating not being able to.

what state do you live in? circuit City is giving free diagnostics checks. They can tell you whats wrong.

If nothing can make the Ctrl key work, then maybe the on screen keyboard can help you. The only thing is you have to use your mouse.

could be the language settings...
my dads came set to US and it was diffrent to the UK settings.

Edit: just noticed ya fixed it...
