curious issue

i have a directory on my D drive which i use for any videos i've made, general media and a lot of work stuff. The directory itself contains around 60gb of info.

Couple of days ago the directoy itself dissapeared from my computer. When i open my computer to d drive it doesn't show the directory there at all, nothing to click on to access it.

However if i type the file path into the bar at the top i can navigate to it.

The directory has not been set to hidden and the system is set to show hidden folders anyway.

Have run a disk check on it with no issues too.

any idea why its vanished?

Somehow the directory heading was lost. When is dos on the older systems if you typed something like "rd C:\photos"(rd=remove directory) the directory name would be removed while the contents would no longer be accessible. If you are able to copy files into a new folder for them you can later delete the folder using something like CCleaner.
