You also do liquid cooling though.. so no point in you getting anything other than founders/reference. For the rest of us having better fan/heatsink is desired - and while I agree that some aftermarket coolers are ugly some look, but more importantly, perform very well!
 
The MSI's twin frozr cooler is the top 3 coolers you can get on the gtx 1070/1080 card.

You only buy the founders edition card because you either...
  1. have absolutely zero patience.
  2. put a waterblock on it because its much easier to find companies who design to the reference pcb.
  3. feel like spending more money for no reason.

When I got my 980 Ti I spent like 6 months with it on air then water cooled it.

@Intel_man I agree with the your 3rd point. They should cost the same
 
The reference cooler as much as Nvidia likes to claim "oh wow vapor chamber".... it sucks compared to the custom coolers you get from MSI, EVGA, ASUS.. etc.
 
Yeah, but the ones you mentioned suck when it comes to looks. Sorry but I'd trade 3 fps for a better looking card.

Refer to this build. The GTX 1080's out of stock, but is listed at the price that is shown in that list. I have also included your "estimates" on the cost for a keyboard, webcam, and monitor. No need for any additional warranties in your estimate as new purchases on your products come with sufficient warranty.
