You can probably do better by just buying all the parts but since the PSU is a generic i wouldnt go for much less.

It would be a lot more cost effective to just buy the right parts now then have to upgrade later (which wont be too long with that video card)

Budget? Are you buying or selling this lol?
 
From the looks of it there is no operating system included. That will cost you an extra $120 from the egg. The PSU is a cheapie as with the case, and the GPU is extremely old. You'd be better off building your own or configuring one on cyberpowerpc.com.

the PSU is not too much. You can not have too much. The system will only draw what it needs. The PSU is a generic, so it mosly likely won't be able to use its stated wattage anyway. That's probably why they've overdone it.

If you can give us a budget, then we can get you up a list. You'll most likely need new RAM + HDD anyway.
 
I would not even waste your money on that...you can get far better parts for the price. You would end up just giving the guy $500 for almost nothing. I would be willing to bet, you will regret this buy later down the road. The only thing...only 1...it has going for it, the processor.

If you are up for the challenge...there are tons of people here that will help you pick parts and talk you through putting it all together:)

This computer is for me, not for sale.
I have a Windows 7 disk, an old card reader and an old DVD player.
I want the same stuff or better than you saw on that setup.
It doesn't have to be ridiculously fast or anything because I'm only using a 32-bit OS.
I want the quadcore and ddr3 and everything.
The purpose for this computer is photoshop, video editing (not high end), some gaming (but not that high end stuff at all), etc.

Am I going to need to solder anything like the CPU? Cuz then I gotta buy a soldering iron. Plus all the attachments and stuff to connect everything, screws, glue, etc. Just seems like it would end up costing the same in the end.

to my experiance you wont need solder or glue. it seriously is starting to sound like you dont know much lol.
even though you dont want to do much gaming, most new games will proberly lagg if you dont get a decent setup, so soon you wont be able to do any gaming.
 
Haha well considering I've never built or assembled a computer before, no I don't know much at all.

I do want a good system don't get me wrong, I just won't need to be using 2 high end graphics cards with crossfirex or sci or whatever all that stuff is for high end gaming. I do want pretty much top of the line stuff though including the phenom II 3.4 x4 black edition, ddr3 memory, and all that good stuff.

I did the math, and it will probably end up costing me $500 bucks in the end depending on where I get the parts. This is pretty much the same price I will be paying someone to assemble it all for me. I don't see the difference.
