custom built in dash pc for my 08 wrangler

Hello to you all. Been awhile since I've bounced around these hallowed halls lol hope everyone been good. I'm exploring an idea and would like some input or even a machine setup would be great. I want to build a small pc to replace the audio unit currently in myjeep. I would like it to be small enough so it can fit in behind the console so a smaller mobo would be beter. Itsmostly will be used for running a media centre with music. And the occasional movie. Id also like it to run a nav unit like google maps and my fm/am radio, hopefully sirius too. But if not I'll just leave the current stuff there and addthe pc anyway
The last thing id like it to do would be for a security camera system. 3-4 cameras recording thru motion detection when I leave the vehicle. If anyone could goes me some ideas on the parts I would need id greatly appreciate it! Thanls
 
Why dont you do that with a laptop? I saw few people that did that but with a laptop because it's smaller and it fits almost everywhere. Now days you can find whatever size you want laptop and it should be easy. To build a whole custom computer in my opinion it's not really worth it. I mean it will take much more room to fit it in.

But I was hoping for a touchscreen monitor and id like the option of adding cards for things like sec cameras and fm radio cards etc. Cant do that with laptop

I know you can get a touchscreen laptop but it will probably cost you more. You can connect few cameras to the laptop as well and watch all screens on the laptop. I only saw that and i dont know how to do it exactly.
 
The touch screen monitor would be the hardest part. The rest you could do with a mini ITX build, I think. Most of what you're wanting to do can be done through USB.
