Hey guys this is my first custom gaming computer build can someone please look all of this stuff up and make sure its compatible. wanna make sure it all works before i go buying everything. oh and do i need to buy any of the power cords for like the motherboard or video card or does the power supply come with those cords?

Build looks pretty solid, except for the PSU - I'd look into one from Antec or Corsair - it'll be a bit more, but worth it!

you'll want to get 6 gb of ram since that motherboard is tri-channel.

all cables will be included. you won't need to buy anything else unless you want to do some extreme cable management.

Coolermaster Silent Pro power supplies are pieces of garbage, just like their GX line. Windows 7 professional is a complete waste over 7 home, and the X58 FTW3 has a combo deal for $5 more:

and that motherboard you recommended doesnt say SLI ready so if i wanted another video card I would have to upgrade the motherboard and buy another video card... I dont really want to have to do that :/ i want a motherboard that will be ready for new stuff in the future so i can plug and play
 
oops sorry guys :/ i also need a monitor a keyboard and mouse for the monitor i just want full resolution and something that i can have HD for my computer and also Im gonna put my PS3 on the monitor also so probably like a 21" or 24" with a DVI port and an HDMI so i can switch easily from computer to ps3. for keyboard and mouse i was lookin at the logitech g... something i forget and keyboard with backlight something to just look cool. also does the windows 7 home edition come with word and powerpoint and outlook? all the stuff like that?

The X58 FTW3 is SLI capable, its made by EVGA, nVidias largest north american retail partner. It would be pretty asinine of EVGA to not include SLI support on their latest X58 motherboard.

How much are you looking to spend on a display?

Also, no version of windows comes with microsoft office. Powerpoint and word are part of Microsoft office, which you would need in addition to microsoft windows.
 
oh so for the tri channel thing you need 3 of the memory sticks exactly? and the reason why i cant get the 8gb memory is because it uses 4 memory sticks? and for the monitor probly around 200 and the keyboard and mouse about the same.

Correct, you want to use either three or six DIMM's on an X58 motherboard. 6GB is plenty for nearly all current applications.

awesome and just for clarification DIMMs are the memory sticks right? and im hoping to run crysis 2... thats my goal for this compputer. oh and i looked at a diagram of the motherboard that you told me to buy and theres 2 shorter slots i think thats where the video cards go right? and then in between each of the shorter slots theres a longer grey one... what are those for?
 
and on that other motherboard that i was originally planning on getting were there 4 slots for video cards? and what is PCI x16, PCI x1 express, PCI, and USB ports used for? I know waht a usb is i just want to know what connects to it on a motherboard
