hey, i'm Australian and I went to this internet site and wanted to know if this PC had any problems with anything?

Case: Thermaltake Soprano Black 430W PSU
Mobo: Asus P5N-E-SLI
Video: Albatron GeForce 7600GT 256M
Monitor: BENQ FP91G+ 19 inch LCD
HDD: Seagate SATAII NCQ 250GB
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz
RAM: 1Gb DDR2 PC6400 800Mhz Geil 444-12 Ultra Low Latency
DVDRW: LG DVD18X+- Dual Layer
Sound: Creative Inspire 5200 5.1 Speakers
Mouse: Razor Diamondback
KB: Viewsonic Multimedia keyboard

This will cost me about $1677.00 AUD (approx $1300 USD)
 
Everything will work and your setup is nice but personally, buying a whole new computer this late in the game of DX9 is not going to last very long. Once Vista is released the DX10 market is going to explode and your computer wont be as good as it could. Now, I am speaking completely from a performance point of view. Bump up to DX10 equipment and you could last at least 1.5 years.
 
By DX10 equipment you mean just the videocard correct? Or is there other componets you will need? Sorry i'm kinda new to this and was in the process of building a computer myself but of course the videocard I pick was DX9 aswell. So now i'm just wondering if I should be waiting to. Also about how long of a wait are we talking here?
 
Well im kinda on a tight budget, and the GTX is about $800 - $1000 AUD, so do you reckon this will run games like BattleField 2 on a decent fps?
 
Thanks for the link, but i know a good pc place in Aus thats close so i dont have to pay for shipping :) Ty for the advice, btw when i said decent fps i was talkin bout the 7600GT, not the 8800 GTX

I wouldn't trust the PSU that comes with the case or with any case for that matter. You will find that they usually have poor quality Power Supplies and that is one thing you don't want to go cheap on when buying a computer. If it goes, it could take down all your other components.

I suggest that you look at getting a quality PSU from any of the following brands:
Antec
OCZ
Fortron
Hiper
Seasonic
 
I agree with Willsko...you will probably need more than 430W as well...look for at least 500W...

Also make sure you have a decent amount of amps on the +12V rail... at bare minimum 18A, around 30A is a good minimum to have, though.
 
I have the Thermaltake Soprano as well but I bought it without the PSU. Where are you buying the rest of your components from?
 
I'm buying this computer through www.umart.com.au located at Southport. I'm not paying for it to be put together or for shipping, as i live near southport and i can put it together myself. I looked at about 3 other sites that all sold soprano cases, but they all included the 430w PSU. I might take out the PSU and replace it with a 550w Antec PSU from a different shop. would that sound like a good idea?
