Customizing my desktop

I've been using Windowblinds for a while now. I just want to know how to change the icons on the desktop. Do I have to download a program in order to change? My Computer, My Documents, My Network Places and the Recycle bin are what I really want to change.

To change your Desktop icons (My Computer, My Docs, My Network, etc...) in Windows XP, do the following:

1) Right-click on the Desktop and choose Properties
2) Select the Desktop tab and press Customize Desktop...
3) Here you have options to remove or change the icons.

To change the icons of any of the other desktop shortcuts (and you can only do this with shortcuts):

1) Right-click on the shortcut you want to change and choose Properties
2) Press the Change Icon... button and Select/Browse for a new icon.

If you want you can use this tool called Icon Tweaker, I use it and it has lots of cool features, changing the icons being one of them

Also, removing the little arrow in the corner from a shortcut, I find this looks neater

All these other posts will work, but I would ask yourself a question:

Do you want the extra overhead of installing another program to do what Windows will do on it's own?

i'm using Icon Packager. kinda cool. i just got bored of the same ol' window xp icons.
