have been for a while now...but some people absolutely adore M$ and must know WHY i don't support it. it doesn't bother me, if you said Linux sucked i'd want to know why too.
 
to get back to one of flames questions earlier, i dont think that ur new start button pic would have to be the same amount of pixels. the windowblinds skin im using right now (dogmax) has a much smaller start button, with animated pulsating windows symbol upon mouse rollover.
 
can't you make the taskbas smaller, and it shrinks everything in it? maybe that's a different OS...

Hmm, well by looking at the tutorial that i found a while back, the start button and taskbar are quite dynamic. If you can find the variable and its value and the image source files im sure you could make it smaller if you take your time.
 
I opened the explorer.exe file and changed the start button to Holiday hehehe,
Then I saved it as explorerHoliday.exe, and changed the registry shell,
I restarted it and every thing worked fine. Then a day later I logged off and my sister tried to logon to her desktop, her background was there but nothing else Ctrl-Alt-Delete worked so I restarted it, same thing, so I hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and started regedit,
In sell where I changed it from explorer.exe to explorerHoliday.exe it was blank, so I
Set it back to explorerHoliday.exe and it worked just fine, so I thought what could have done that, then I remembered I had ran spy-bot SD and it found like to problems or something. I guess spy-bot didn’t like shell saying explorerHoliday.exe LOL

I don't know if this is what you mean but I don't think the start button is just a pic
Because when I changed my start button it was just a text change.
