Cyberlink Powerproducer version 5 cant load .avi

Hey,

I just got cyberlink powerproducer v5 and thought i could use it to burn some of my avi files onto a dvd to play in dvd quality on a dvd player. on the part of the menu that says add video files, i go into the menu and try to add an avi, but it gives this message:

does anybody know why this is?

(P.S: nero vision 4 also gives me this same message when i try to do the same thing, so i dont think it's the Cyberlink program, and I did try uninstalling nero 7 and trying cyberlink and it still didn"t fix it)

They probably don't support it, get a program like Imtoo Ultimate (yes buy it) or VSO convertX to DVD.
I don't know any freewares though there are quite a few that can get the job done
 
thanks for the input. That would probably be the answer, but I have this problem with nero 7 as well, and about 2 weeks ago i was burning avi's into dvd format right onto disc, so i'm thinking it might be something in my registry.
 
hey, just to let anyone know, i solved this problem myself. apparently, my audior drivers were corrupted as well as my codecs, so i got different codecs and all is working now :)
