Cyberpower PC... How will these specs do?

Well I've shopped around and finally decided to get a gaming desktop (laptop just isn't cutting it). I'm gonna go with Cyberpower. I'm kinda confused how SLI works though... Since you can only connect your moniter to one video card, what about the other GPU when you have two? Tell me if these specs will give me good gaming performance and not conflit with each other. Thanks for all the help.

Save $$$

The system itself isn't bad EXCEPT the video cards are A) horrible for gaming at decent settings and B) you do not want to SLI video cards that low end. Also have you considered building your own? It teaches you a lot and will save you $. How much is that PC from Cyberpower? You would get more performance from a Core 2 Duo (Intel) series CPU as well. Either the E6300, E6400, or the best bang for buck (in my opinion) E6600. As for video card I guess what's your budget and could you build one yourself? :D

The cost is $1033 (thats about as much as i wanna spend). What Graphics cards do you suggest? I'd like to build my own, I just thought it'd be better to buy one in case i messed something up.

Getting 2x 7300GS is a horrible idea, buy a better single card, such as the 7600GT.

You need more then 512MB of RAM, go for at least 1GB.

And look into getting a Core 2 Duo.

1st. u need at least 1gb of ram for ur machine
2nd. u need better set of video card to run SLI, 7300GS is terrible...7600GT is the least u should choose from...

System

Go here and check out this guys build. It's MUCH better than what you're looking at. It should be around the same price. I'll find the total and let you know. http://www.computerforum.com/66177-cheaper-than-most-semi-gaming-pc-build-help-required.html it's the 2nd post in the thread but I made a couple recommendations to the speakers, motherboard, and going with 2GB of ram. First build was $1180.39
My mods make it $1234.89 by lowering the price of the speakers and changing the mobo but adding 1GB more ram. Well worth it.

Yes, I would definatly put in more ram, I couldnt settle with only 512MB.. OK, I see most of you are suggesting the Intel Core 2 Duo. I heard in MaximumPC mag that Athlon X2 dual core was one of the better gaming processors and the Intel was more for multitasking (By the way what exactly does Hyper-Threading do?). And now that i think about it, I would really like to put one together. The hard part is just finding compatable parts, but you guys are helping me on that. I've also been wondering, take the E6300 for example- it says that its speed is 1.86GHz. Does that mean on each core, or all together. And as far as Graphics cards go, should I just forget about SLI and go with a good single card? Which one of these is better - XFX GeForce 7900GS ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150208) or the XFX 7600GT ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150182) Thanks for everything so far & Keep the info coming:D

How old is that article? When that was written, the C2D wasnt released yet.

The E6300 runs at 1.86Ghz on both cores, but the speed isn't combined. And even at 1.86, it outperforms the X2 running in excess of 2.0Ghz.

And the 7900GS is better.

Ya, that artical was from a while ago... I think I would like to go with the E6600, because most of the reviews I read said it had excellent performance. And as for 7900GS, Should I run dual cards? These are the specs I currently have in mind.
MB: GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - $115.99
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M sharing L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - $309.99 (not for sure yet)
GPU: XFX PVT71PUQF3 GeForce 7900GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card – $139.99 (Should I run duals?)
HD: Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500JB 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive – $69.99
Power: RAIDMAX AURORA RX-580F ATX 580Watts Power Supply 115/230 V UL, FCC, CSA, CB, TUV, CE - $54.99
Memory: GeIL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - $204.99 (not for sure, just seemed like the best for around $200)
Total with single GPU: $895.94
How do you think this would be?

That system is much MUCH better than your original one. I would go with the 7900gt, a bit more money but 24ppl instead of 20. If you have the extra money, go with an 8800gts instead of two 7900gt's.

Cool, I'm glad it'll work. By the way the case I'm gonna get is the "APEVIA (ASPIRE) X-CRUISER-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $64.99" i forgot to add that into the price so the total would be $960.93.

so bite the bullet and buy an 8800 instead of running two 7900 gts'?

Yes 1 8800GTS would stomp two 7900's unless they were 7900 GTX's and those are way too much $ to be worth it. Either the 8800 GTS or GTX is the best card out at the moment. They're both also DX10 ready. :D

I was looking on newegg, and found this one: XFX GeForce 7950GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP. If I ran just one of those, do you think it'd still give me good enough performance? plus it'd save me $200 from the 8800.

Well the 8800gts is a world apart from the 7950GT. The 7950GT got 5300 on 3Dmark 06, and Omega, who has the 8800GTS, got a 10241 on 3Dmark 06' (after OCing). So yeah, if you have the 200, definetly go for the 8800GTS, as it is almost doubled the performance of the 7950gt.

Based on the fact Vista is coming out and DX10 will be the new standard in the future I would get the 8800GTS if you can afford it. Do you plan on upgrading in the next 6months to a year? If not I would def get the 8800GTS now. If you don't mind spend $300 now and then at least another $300 or more later for a DX10 card then get the 7950GT. Really up to you but I wouldn't buy anything new unless it supported DX10 because Vista uses it and newer games will use it. :P But that's just my thoughts on the matter.
