Vista freezes when i connect to the router =/

Hi.
I have just bought a D-link DWA-547 network card and I've installed it in the computer. I have istalled the drivers, but when I connect to the router which is a NETGEAR DG834Gv2 my computer freeze. I have Vista. I have tried it several times but its the same thing all the time. What can I do?

Most likely it the network card, try a different network card first.

what type of NIC is this, wireless, wired ? when you say "connect" what exactly do you mean. Are you trying to pull up the embedded web page in the router to configure or are you trying to get to the internet?
In the first scenario, try opening a comand prompt and doing an ipconfig/ release, ipconfig/renew first

It's when Im connecting to the router. Im using a wierless card.

windows update found a update and I installed it, and tada. It works now =)
