D600 audio issue

We have a Dell Latitude D600 with a strange audio problem.

It doesnt play any sound from any cd or dvds we insert, but has all the error sounds, trash can sounds and will play sound through the internet.

I have reinstalled windows and all the drivers, everything seems ok but still no sound from audio cds or dvds...

anyone help???
 
Go to your device manager - right click on the DVD drive - click properties - click the properties tap - at the bottom make sure enable digital audio is checked.
