Darksiders 1 & 2 resolution issues

Apparently the dev. decided locking the options file was a good idea, and the default res is unsupported for me (why can't it just use the system's resolution?). Can somebody go into the game and change the settings to like 800x600 or something low like that and post a link to it or pm me and you can e-mail it to me (will give you the e-mail in a reply to the pm).

my file is a lot different so i duplicated it, but now i'm stuck at a spot where what he posted doesn't seem right, IDK if he typed it wrong or what cuz looks like he copied and pasted it.

can you check steam cuz i tried messaging you on there
 
IDK what happened but after changing the settings in-game and restarting it doesn't matter what i do, the res doesn't work. can you get on steam and help me through that.
