I have been looking around at laptops for a while, i know roughly what i want, the only thing i am left down to wondering is, what is a good video card? i see all these "intel graphics pro 950" and a "ATI Mobility Radeon X1400" what are these?! help me please.
is there a website that lays it out nice and simple saying "Good, bad, dont touch, etc etc?" or is there some sort of rule that we should think about? i mean, jsut generally, is there a site around that speak about laptops, for dummies. i am also a little lost on processors too, but i just figure that the higher the ghz the better.
can any one please help me? thanks

The higher the ghz does'nt always mean it's better.
Well, to start off, what will you be using the laptop for mainly? This could determine if your better off with Intel, Amd, dual core, etc.. For the most part, dual core may be a good choice as of now.

The intel graphics pro are usually always integrated and if all possible, you should avoid it if you aren't just a regular casual user. Not saying that they are bad or not good, but if you plan on doing things such as gaming, graphics, etc.. integrated isn't really the way to go.

I would like a few simple things
Enough speed to play a few games, none that are extreamly demanding, but that will still be able to play games comming out in 1-2 years time. (PES, fifa, and a few strategy games)
Decent battery life, for school work etc etc
A nice size screen, to watch films.
Enough memory so that it will go fast.
hard drive isnt important cause i have an external.

What would be good for this? i dont wanna spend more than 1200£ (2000$ ish)

thanks
