Data recovery

I wonder if someone knows a free data recovery program that can recover some files from my computer after i have formated it?

I'm using windows XP

I don't think that there is any program that can recover files after you have formatted the hard drive. I may be wrong, but I think that formatting is permament.

It is. It is IMPOSSIBLE to recover files after a format. If you "quick" formatted there is a smalllllllllll ray of light, otherwise it's simply impossible. If you did do a quick format your chances are one in ten thousand....if thats the case try "Bad Copy" search google for it.

I think your only chance would be to contact a professional data recovery company, but it would be extremely expensive.

Bingo. THe only ones that i know of are criminal investigation labs that can recover data from hdds that have been smashed / burnt etc and i dont think that you can just go out and hire them
