DDR or DDR2 ?

I will be getting a new board and dont know if i should get one that supports DDR or DDR2? Is there much difference in speed or anything?

That will depend mainly on the type of cpu you are planning to go with and the make and model that supports that. Are you planning to run the same cpu seen in your sig or go for newer faster model?

Basically, any fairly new processor/motherboard will be DDR2. The future will be DDR2 for now, then DDR3 later, DDR is definitly getting phased out.

No, i changed my mind about the cpu, i'm most likely gonna get an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600.

If your going to get a new motherboard and CPU, you should look into getting a C2D and LGA775 motherboard.

It also depends if the new board is AM2-AM3(eventually) or staying with Intel for a Core 2 board where these will require DDR2 memory.
