ddr

i know that ddr is slower then ddr2 but why does ddr cost more?

It's a legacy technology.

Just like it's expensive to get parts for classic cars - there's not much demand for DDR memory - so it's costly to produce in smaller quantities - so they have to charge more money to keep producing it.

If you have an old stereo and try and find a Remote on ebay - chances are - the price for the remote will be pretty pricey. Same concept.
