i want to get this evga motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813188009

and it says it's compatable with ddr2 800 ram.

BUT, one of the bundles is ddr2 1000.......

Would that ram be able to run at full speed on that motherboard?????

I'd like to spend a little extra cash now, so that if i get bored down the road, i can bump my FSB up from 400mhz to 500mhz, and have the ram keep up (4ghz quad-core, anyone?)

But don't want to spend an extra $100 compared to ddr2 800 for the extra 100mhz speed increase if the motherboard's incompatable.

Anyone know how to find this out?

If it can do 1200Mhz, it cam [almost] certainly do 1000Mhz.

I say almost becuase there ARE speeds which can become unstable depending on different settings. This is apparent on the 965 boards where some lower speeds of fsb (and subsequently, the ram) won't boot because of internal issues, but bumping up even higher moves to another "tier" internally and the chipset regains stability.

well, if i have a problem running the 1000 @ 400, i'll bump it to full 500 and drop my multiplier till i get watercooling
