Hey guys, i currently am running ddr2 1066mhz corsair rams (defaulted to ddr2 800mhz) my set up is listed below. my question is i wanted to upgrade my rams but my motherboard only has four ram slots. planning on getting 2gbx4 of either ddr2 800, 1066, or 1200. what is the best for performance for the money right now? thanks

You won't see much of a performance gain from 1066 to 1200. I would recommend to spend that extra cash on something that's more important.

just stick with 1066.

Because rams that cheap these days,Especialy DDR2 ram i was thinking of upgrading from 4gb ddr2 800 to 8gb ddr2 1066 but i was told that i wouldnt realy notice any difference in speed or having more ram because not much will take advantage of over 4gb.
Not for what i do anyway,

If you save your money by getting either 1066 or 800Mhz RAM, you can use it for other things, like the CPU or GPU. Then, just OC the RAM yourself!

Like others said save some cash go with 800 or 1066.
Yor not going to see much of an improvement any ways.

right now i'm running OS xp 32bit, would 2 more 1xgb of 1066 be worth it? is there anybody who has 1066 with dual core who oc'd to 4+ghz? would getting two different brands matter? thanks all for the replies

mix and match ram causes instability usually unless you get lulcky and find zomething else with the same chip maker so on so forth

just so you know there are no JEDEC settings for DDR2 memory over 800Mhz, so if you get anything above that, you will have to set timings and speeds manually
