DDR2 and DDR memory

I was planning to upgrade a new motherboard as I want to upgrade a lot of hardware like graphic card , hard drive that would need a new slot (PCI-Express ,Sata ,DDR 2).The problem is I have three DDR Memory which amount 1 GB MB RAM, I wish to know that is that worth to change a mobo with DDR2memory slot ? As I knew that many computer user around are still using the DDR Memory , I have to be careful for this decision to save the cost but worried too if the DDR memory would outdate soon.

DDR memory will not be outdated for a long time. AMD still uses DDR and INTEL uses DDR2. if you have ddr dont get a new motherboard and just stick with ddr.

AMD's new architecture will support DDR2, and once that comes out DDR may be right there next to 184pin SDRAM sooner than you think.

well what all do you do with your computer? Depending on its use we can better tell whether you should go amd or intel and ram basically falls into place after that
