hey i wanted to know if you bought an amd socket am2 will u need to buy dd2 or is it just better to have ddr2 with am2 and can u use ddr2 with 939.

Also i would like to know what processor you think is the best. As of now i am looking at the 4400 x2 64.

Almost all of the AM2 mobos use DDR2 ram.

The processor I think is the best is the FX 62 but others will say Conroe

i am definately going to say conroe, however im you were looking at the amd line, then i think the X2 is slightly overpriced

he is asking whether reg ddr will work in AM2 mobos. no it wont because ddr is 184 pin and ddr2 is 240 pin i think. so you need to have ddr2 with AM2.

What is the Core Duo with the clock speed of 2.66? I'm slightly confused of what im seeing:confused:

And also very true bebopin

It's core 2 duo, big difference  And it also comes in many speeds, 1.86ghz, 2.13ghz, 2.4ghz, 2.66ghz (the E6700) and the core 2 extreme at 2.93ghz.

AMD requires DDR2 memory, you can not use DDR memory with it.

And the Core 2 Duo outperforms the FX-62 in every real-world test, even the lower end ones.

Heya

Well you would also have to look at the model in question. The weakest Core 2 Duos are not that amazing if you ask me. I have seen motherboards that boast support for DDR and DDR2 at the same time but they were made for the Intel platform.

JAN :D

what do you mean almost all are DDR2

all of AM2 mobos are DDR2 because in the AM2 processors the memory controller is within the chip itself. AMD does this with all its processors so you cant interchange DDR2 and DDR

I think he said "almost", because he wasn't completely sure that what he was saying was true, lol.
