OK, now I've looked on a couple of websites, and I've found that although DDR2 usually doesn't overheat as bad... GDDR3 has WAY better performance... please correct me if I'm wrong and tell me if you know anything else about the 2 types of memory...
GDDR3 is not only just used in graphics, it is a different standard than DDR3. GDDR3 was developed by ATi (although NVidia used it on a graphcs card first)GDDR3 are used in graphics RAM
I'll say it again, GDDR3 is not the same thing as DDR3. The terms are not interchangable, they share a similar name that is all.
GDDR3 is set to supersede DDR2, but that is ages away.
The current 8800GTS and GTX only use GDDR3, but the 8900 series I believe will use GDDR4.Yeah, the 8800 series graphics cards use GDDR4.
