ddr3 vs ddr2

Im looking to build a new comp for a guy i know. Which is better ddr2 or ddr3. I will be putting in 4 GBs of ram. Is it worth the extra money?
 
ddr3 is SO much more expensive right now that i think you should put that money into a great video card, a sturdy motherboard, and a top of the line CPU. throw in a really nice monitor, and you will be just fine with ddr2 for a few years. anyway, you could always get a mobo that supports ddr2 and ddr3 and if really necessary upgrade when ddr3 is less expensive
 
ok i got $5000-6000 CND to spend. Thats why i was thinking of ddr3. But maybe i will get the board to support it but stick with ddr2 for now...cool thanks
 
Hi,

It is just as same as it used to be when the DDR2 came out. There wasn't much difference it it. Same counts for the DDR3. For now, I won't buy them... Much too expensive for a minimum difference.
