DDR400 compatible?

I'm running a 512mb stick of DDR266 2100. My motherboard's fsb speed is running at 333mHz because that is all the processor can handle, but the motherboard is capable of 400 mHz. If I got a gig of DDR400 3200 would it be compatible with my motherboard? This is probably a pretty simple question, I just thought I'd post it instead of look it up.
 
You'll definitely be able to run it, but it may only operate at DDR333 speeds. It's also possible that your motherboard can run the RAM and the the CPU asynchronously (I think it's 5:6...not sure, but I have the same situation, 333 CPU, 400 RAM and RAM operates at 400 (well...200 technically)). Worst case scenario; you have RAM you can use @ 400 on another build.

Yes it will run, As far as i know if you take the DDR226 peice out then the DDR400 will run at DDR333 and if the DDR 226 peice is in there it will slow dont and make them both the same at 226 .

That last part might be wrong though.

Whilst this is true, i doubt that motherboard will allow this feature.

your fsb is 166mhz, the 333mhz is the speed that double data rate (ddr) runs at since it can operate on both the rise and fall of the clock cycle.
