De Interlace help

I have some VOB files I Decrypted from some DVDs I have..

I know they are Interlaced videos and I use Formst Factory to convert them to other Formats.

It has a setting De Interlace and I can set it to YES or NO.
I know when you De Interlace a video you are making it Prograsive.

But I just wanted to know if I set De Interlace to NO what will this do?
I know it will not De Interlace it but it wont Interlace it will it??

Or will it just keep it as is and pass it through?

You will get more and better help from that forum then asking several of the same questions here and not getting the answer you want.
