Dead CPU fan on Sony Vaio

My CPU fan died on my Sony Vaio, and it gets realllly hot in there. Problem is, I took the fan out, and the connector is a tiny two-pin connector that I've never seen before. I tried several two-pin GPU fans and all of the connectors are two-pin, but too big! Does anyone know where I might find a fan to fit this connector?

do you think splicing a new fan to the old connector will work ? make sure the fan turns in the right direction, there might be an arrow on the fan case showing this. The air has to be forced down, through the cooling vents. Did you ever operate your pc w/o the heatsink on ? what model sony ? also if you do splice try to solder as opposed to twisting the wires.
also look for CASE fan connectors on the mainboard also , they will also work for the processor, unless you already have a case fan.

I'd still go through Sony, even if you manage to find something that fits into the chassis, you still wont know if it'll work with the CPU. Many laptops will underclock and save power when not needed. The fan will shift speeds when not needed also. I wouldn't tamper with it and just wait for the new fan to come in.

oh, thought it was a desktop Vaio, most definately get the exact replacement from Sony and any thermal pads that it may have or paste.

I got a new CPU cooling unit on eBay, I've already voided the warranty x10 on the laptop (Sony wanted $800 some for a few repairs that I did for under 75$).
