well, my crappy logitech 2 button scroll mouse, complete with ball, has now failed, at the age of 11 months.

I need a new mouse, and i was hoping for some suggestions.

I was wondering if optical is good, or if it's still kinda for "pointing" or if it can be used for games. and i would also like to have some more buttons, like thumb buttons that they have.

i want to know what you recommend.

thanks

Most people love optical. I dont like them for when I game but like their feel for everything else. I believe the Microsoft Intelimouse has always won the user ratings.
This would be a great choice.

but i'm not a really big gamer anyway, i play games quite often, but i figure, if the mouse is good enough for gaming, it's good enough for web browsing
