dead pixels on LCD

is there any way to remove a dead pixel off my lcd monitor, i heard rubbing it with a sunglass polish cloth would work , ne ideas ?

If it's actually a dead pixel, you're out of luck - there's nothing that can be done.

If it's just a stuck pixel, there are some ideas here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuck_Pixel#Fixing_stuck_pixels. Rubbing it with a cloth can indeed help.

Yeah I have heard stories of people applying some pressuring and fixing dead pixels, but I don't know if it works. Doesn't hurt to try.

On one of my LCD's, I was able to free a stuck pixel by apply a bit of pressure with a cloth on the area. But dead pixels are that, dead, and cant be fixed.

Most companies tell you that the monitor has to have 8 or more dead pixels to qualify for a return.
