Dealing with trojan horses and backing up your data

I have had a problem with a trojan horse- trojanhorse flooder.AKE. And I couldnt logon to my computer.

Any my friend got me back to using my normal computer. Guy really seemed to know what he was doing and read how to do it from a forum he found when someone had the same problem. He found it on the net. I guess running google searches finding forums with the same problem is a good way to address many problems.

Anyway, I still have the trojan horse. I am currently backing up my important data. My photos. I will also try to back up my music in i tunes. Should be simple enough right? Just put it all on RW DVDs. Do I need to back up anything else incase of more problems or if I do a reinstall?

Backup anything don't want to lose. Are you using some antivirus software? It should be able to remove the trojan...

I would backup any documents you have and music files. The only real problem with your iTunes stuff is that sometimes it doesn't want to import again. You'll have to reinstall all of your applications since almost all will have registry settings that you will lose.

If you get a good virus scanner, you should be able to just get rid of the trojan without having to loose all your other programs. This looks more like adware than anything else. Try SpyBot Search and destroy and Adaware. You can find a free trial of both at downloads.com

I might have two trojans, but certainly one. One took out Avast and Spybot. The flooder one is too much for AVG. I can use my computer, but flooder it is still in the system somewhere.
