Perhaps you should do some reading into RAID ... like here for instance http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=10889Raiding them in "0" will almost double you hardrives speed.
Yes but a 6800GT is a smarter choice -- and by the time the 6800GT is obsoelete, the 6800U will also be obsolete. If you think 50Mhz is gonna save the card.....A Nvidia 6800Ultra is faster, and you can afford it in your budget
10% is in controlled environments running application benchmarks -- not real world.(~10% in normal applications).
Hahahaha heee heee I knew we'd run into RAID0 fanboys while I was writing the 101... see the RAID0 section, http://www.computerforum.com/showpost.php?p=70401&postcount=3um how about no.
No cant forget the case but you did manage to forget the PSUCan't forget that

Hehe hell ya especially since ASUS now has that S479-->S478 adapterI would also recomend you consider getting a laptop if you like to travel (you can get a 6800Ultra in them now). Also just to spice things up, You could get a Pentium M (Centrino) fast enough for most things, and it runs pretty cold (great for overclocking).

Dual core + Premium system infrastructure > $2000Dual core will increase performance on new cpus and drop old cpu prices.

Dual 6800GT/Us arent hard to fit into that budget at all ... we were simply commenting on the intelligence of that choice (the Ultras over the GTs that is)Dual 6800GT's or Ultras would be extremely hard to do if you want to also get a good gaming CPU, atleast 2 gigs of ram, and a good hd. I would say that one is good enough.
Numerous references to a RAID 101 or RAID FAQ have been made with links posted ... read upAlso, this may be a dumb question, but wha tis raid?
No it's quite concrete (quite optimisitic that is)I guess so... It really depends on what you do...
