Decent gaming computer?

You would probably be better off building the computer yourself. Even CoD4 and GTA4 would require at least a 9600GT to get acceptable frames, and a 9600GT would put you in Crysis-playable range.

I'm not going to be running Crysis or anything like that.

I just want a decent gaming computer for games like, Call of duty 4, gta4 etc.

Thanks.
You could play any game you want with that system.

You won't be running on Ultra High settings, but it will play Crysis and COD4
comfortably at lower settings.

COD4 requires GeForce 6600 or better.
Crysis requires GeForce 6800 GT 256Mb or better.

It is on the high side for it's specs. But, it has an SLI mobo so you could
upgrade your power supply later and add another graphics card..

True, but he most likely doesn't need SLI. I'm almost maxing (2xAA) CoD:WaW at 60 fps on a video card that would probably cost $80 today. A single card solution would still be good. It wouldn't be the best, but he might not need the best.

1. 420W PSU not enough for SLi, IMO. Probably need upgrade to run SLi.
2. Who border to run low-end 9500GT in SLi?
3. Q8200 > Athlon X2 6000

correct on all three counts.

running SLi with 9500GT is a waste.

Build the system yourself! It is cheaper. Give us a budget, and we will see what we can come up with (if you want).

I understand he may not need it, but it may be the reason he chose it,
who knows? I was simply pointing out the difference.

I pointed out in my first post that the PSU would be lacking for 2 cards.

Sure, maybe he wouldn't run the 9500 in SLI, but he has the choice anyway.

Seems to me that every time someone comes here wondering about a
certain pre built system, they're always prodded to build one themselves.

Building a pc is not for everyone.

not exactly true :) i put together a pc recently. before that, i had never done anything more than changing graphic card and hard disk :D

Thanks for all the help.

I probably won't need an SLI.

I have a friend that built his own computer, he said it was a pain, so i'll probably end up getting one of those two (Infinity 3312 Core 2 Quad Q8200(2.33GHz) or Ultra 7204 Athlon X2 6000+). I'm not that handy with computers.

Which one should i get? I'm leaning towards Q8200.:good:

ok, im going to to neither...

have you EVER read reviews on pre build systems?
and the one in your first post... this is what it states.

Pros: Ran fast while it lasted 3 days

Cons: It lasted 3 days, power supply looked like someone hit it with a bat.

Other Thoughts: Customer service isnt bothering to answer calls or call back
also, go through newegg and try to find a pre build without a review like....

Pros: eh just read the con
Cons: the machine doesnt work. the monitor gets no input from computer.

I thought it was the video card so i took it out and re-attached it(hoping that it was knocked lose during shipping). I also made sure the ram and the cords were plugged in correctly, etc.

nothing worked. ibuypower tech support doesnt work on weekends so i have to wait till monday to call them.

on their forums, i found 3 other people with similar problems with the mods gave suggestions to fixing the problem that had no effect on the problem.

its just frustrating as hell. i was all excited to get this thing started and it doesnt work

Ibuypower and cyberpower are 2 big no-nos for me...

I would recommend building your own computer, you feel different about computers u build then computers u get...

Its cheaper, its more rewarding, you know EVERYTHING that's in there to the smallest piece of dust. and its a fun hobby lol,

if you need help, there are guides all over the web, and we are here for you

What about http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16883229090 ? No bad reviews.
I don't really have the time to build one, or else i probably would.

listen. its your money. i know, but if you really need a prebuild i would really recomend you to go into bestbuy or something. TRUST ME!!!!! ive dealt with cyberpower(pissed) and ibuypower(legaly) they are big no-nos

99% of there products have reviews about there stuff coming in without stuff screwed in, or dented, or rattling noises. (bad)

if you want to buy offline... get a dell, and ask for a dedicated grafics card.

Honestly, If I were going to buy a pre-built pc, I would purchase a name brand pc like HP or Dell, simply for the support factor. I don't know what Cyberpower offers for support.
