So I'm currently working my way up to build a good gaming desktop, but in the meantime, I have an old computer from my mom's work that I would like to upgrade a bit so I'm not stuck with gaming on my laptop.
Anyway, here's the specs. My budget is probably about $50-$60, but if it really matters, I guess I can go up a bit...
  • OS: MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66GHz
  • RAM: 2.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 333MHz (Planning on upgrading this a bit too!)
  • MB: Intel Corporation DG31PR (J3E1)
  • GFX: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family
Thanks!

EDIT:
My guess is no, but is this compatible? GeForce 210

What games are we talking about here? :)

The Geforce 210 is compatible as that motherboard has a PCI Express x16 slot,But its not a great card and only supports DX10.1.

You could look into getting a HD6450,Which is newer and faster...and does not require extra power & is low profile.

It really depends on what your expecting to play though as both cards are quite weak.

As for the Ram upgrade,That board does support up to 4GB max so your good there, take a look on the bay for some used DDR2 ram as its expensive new.

I was mainly talking about just games like TF2, Minecraft, etc. Nothing too fancy ;D
But I will definitely look into it! thanks :)

Get a Radeon HD 5670.

I have it and I max out TF2 on 1920x1080 resoltuion and I max out Minecraft on fullscreen with about 80-120 fps.

I have an i3 2100 with 8 GB of RAM, which is faster that what you got, but I still bet you will get great FPS on Minecraft and on TF2 aslong as you dont put your resolution too high.
