I used to post on here awhile ago but haven't been around in awhile. My pre-built comp is decent as it plays crysis on high with a 1.8ghz 9150e phenom cpu, sparkle gts250 gpu and 550w psu.
Id like to swap out the stock mobo and cpu for something more gamer freindly and has a good amount of overclock ability. But, I dont wanna break the bank. Id like to stay under $250 for both the cpu and mobo. Ill buy ram also, so any ideas for that are welcome too.
Also when going from a stock mobo/cpu in a pc thats currently running do I have to reinstall windows? Will I lose my files at all? Can i Switch from an amd mobo and cpu to an intel?
Im not having any trouble for the most part playing my games on very high settings. But now and then I get annoying "stutters" and "slow-downs" which I do not like. I play ALOT of games; crysis, bf2, stalker, fallout 3, sims 3, cod5, cod5, killing floor, americas army 3, world in conflict, age of empires 3, team fortress 2, company of heroes, civilization 4 and many many more.
I want fluid gameplay on high settings with all of these games, minus crysis of course.
If i could just upgrade my cpu to a better cpu on the stock mobo that would be great. I wouldnt think it would take alot more power to get the random stutters to go away. Any help would be very appreciated!!
