Just wondering which would be a good psu for my 780i mobo because it has 24 pin and the cpu 8 pin

could i use a 4 pin instead of the 8?

How do I know the HX520 is good? Cause Danny said it! ;)

Nah but really, the HX series are great because of the modular feature. This means that the PSU and its cables are separate which let you connect only what you need. Not to mention these won't die on you! (of course unless they're DOA)

He knows what he's on about :P

Also, they have three 12v rails, so there's plenty of juice ;)

...and cookies! :P

On topic:

I own a Rosewill RD series and it has done a great job. They are around the $50 US range and I say are a good PSU brand. ;)

I would say if you could get a modular PSU, I got a decent (non modular) as everyone on here told me you loose power on modular PSUs so I didn't get one. Now I regret it I HAVE SOOO many cables everywhere doing nothing except being in the way.

Generally stick to big brands and your safe such as Corsair and OCZ etc.

WHO TOLD YOU THAT? WHOA! That's the worst I have heard said around, yet...

From what I know now some silly person. I really wish I got one now. I have 1 x 20+4Pin ATX, 1 x 4-pin/8-pin CPU, 2 x PCI-E, 6 x 4-pin peripheral, 2 x 4-pin floppy, 6 x S-ATA now. Where do you put those in a case !!!!
