Decision Between Two... Pretty Simple, Need Help

I can get an MSI with a gtx 970m and an i7-5700hq for 1500 USD flat.

Or I can get a Gigabyte with a gtx 980m and an i7-4710hq for 1600 USD flat.

All other internal specs of the laptops are exactly the same.

The 5700hq has a slightly higher base frequency (.2 ghz higher), but the 980m is far superior to the 970m.

My question is, is it worth the extra 100 bucks to get the Gigabyte and its 980m?

I just want to play Fallout 4 and I’m going to college soon lol.

Thanks.

Well, here's the comparison. http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-980M-vs-GeForce-GTX-970M Biggest difference is the amount of RAM. Other than that it's almost a tie.

You could save a lot of money and go with a GTX 960m. http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GE62-APACHE-276-9S7-16J212-276-15-6-Inch/dp/B012AQH9AU/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
Scroll to the bottom for others.

Now the Minimum systems requirements for Fallout 4 is a GTX 550 TI @ 2GB. But the recommended is a GTX 780 @ 4 GB. So the GTX 960m would pass, but the GTX 970m would be more than enough power. So the extra $100 isn't worth it IMO. http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4-system-requirements-released/

The 960M would probably struggle to keep up with Fallout 4 consistently. If you've got the money, get a 970M at the least. Also keep in mind portability for college.

Since the 980M machine is cheaper, I'd get it. Do it quick though because those Open Box deals don't last long.
