Decision: Monitor or Graphics Card? Decision

Hey guys. I need a few things to complete my new build (in sig). Im currently using a Radeon X700PRO 256mb video card from Dec 2005.
My monitor is a Gateway 17" LCD that I got with my old computer. I'm selling that computer and expect/am hoping to get around $300 for it. Here's the decision I have to make...
New graphics card-or new monitor.
Depending on the selling price of the PC, I would be able to get a 320 or 640mb 8800GTS, or the lower 8500/8600's.
Should I just get one now or wait for the new cards to come out and save up for a newer one?
If I do this, I would get a new monitor, which I plan on getting at some point, whether I get the graphics card now or later.

ALSO:
My PSU is 550W (Xclio Greatpower). For the 8800GTS is has a reccomended minimum 12v rail of 26amps. Since this PSU has 3 12v Rails, would the total amp rating be an addition of the 3, or the individuals? Will this meet the reccomendation of a 12v rail 26 amps or not?

Personally I would get the monitor, but I think it is best ow wait until the DX10 market settles down some. There are still no ATI cards to compete.

Ya... does anyone know of the starting prices of the X2900XTX , or and guesses? I read somewhere that it would be in the $200-$300 range, but I can't imagine that with all its features and things.
