which is better?
AMD Sempron 3200+ 1.8 ghz cpu
OR
Intel Celeron D 3.06 Ghz cpu

I play alot of online Games and need the speed.
I need to get a better video card later but for now its the cpu that i need to know about
I have a nice case and am getting a motherboard to fit the cpu. i will have around 1gb ram and 30gb hard drives(not concerning). as to video card i will most likely be getting atleast a 128. i need to know which cpu is better(because my dads buying it).:D

I kinda was thinking that i need something on the cheaper side
For me the AMD is 45$ and Intel is 57$ so........ im not sure, which would out perform from these 2?

Thanks Jack i think ill bug the crap outta my dad to take me out ot get it tomorrow (he might not but maybe!) cant wait. right now i run a crappy 1ghz intel p3 512 ram and 1 20gb hd and a 10gb hd, i pretty much paid more for the case that its in!

Also i use my dads computer so... cant wait for a better comp. it has 2.93 ghz celeron D and 512 ram. Most of the time for normal apps. my computer out perfroms. my dad wasted about 500$ on it and paid 125$ for mine... which is the better deal there...lolz.

The AMD Sempron 3200+ 1.8 ghz cpu is better if you are just choosing between the two. I will NEVER touch a celeron CPU.

I had a P4 celeron and for everyday things and light gaming it performed admirably. It was also a hell of an overclocker.

I'm just curious about what you are getting here. It sounds like you need a CPU and want to choose between the Sempron and Celeron. But what are you going to be putting this in? If you are building a whole new system then I think you should spend just a few more dollars and get something like the AMD A64 X2 3600+ for $70 instead of the Sempron or Celeron. This chip would be a ton faster and is something that is currently in use in most systems.
