i am debating whether to buy or to build. I want a new desktop for myself, mainly aimed at games like Wow Counterstrike, C&C and stuff like that. Nothing too extravigant. There is a package deal at Best buy that i am looking at

i would just replace the video card on that. My other option is to build something..i put together something quicky at new egg

Im fairly new to this scene, so if i may have missed something, or soemthing may be wrong. I just need opinions on what route would be the better route.

I dont want to spend much more than $700 or $750 and this leaves me right around that price. I have XP i can install if i build so i don't need to buy an OS. I have a decent monitor but the one that comes in the package is better.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but thanks in advance. I just would like some input and opinions. Or anything that i can/should change.
 
i do like that as well, but that brings it pretty far out of my price range. I could prly do that if i waited a couple weeks or a month, but would that combo even be available then?

and is it worth it to wait and pony up the extra cash for that?
 
phenom 2's perform much better than the current phenoms out there, they're equivalent to something along the lines of an intel q9400
