I've noticed recently that many of the Socket 939 CPU's on newegg were being taken off of their list... including the CPU I was looking to buy, the X2 4800+... can anyone tell me if AMD stopped manufacturing them? If not, where can I find them?
i doubt it very much, they just probably waiting for new stock or something, the 939 socket range is the most popular range out there at the moment and sold more than double the amount of intels duo core
The thing is though, that if they were out of stock the would say so on newegg, they just arent even there anymore. I hope that you're right, since I want a 4800+ badly
I would look for shops selling them on ebay
( I am really happy with mine btw, so if you're really going to get one, i dont think you'll be disappointed )

Thanks, Im workin on it lol, if worst comes to worst I'll buy an X2 4600+ from newegg. It does shock me though that they would discontinue the 4800, it being the fastest 939 X2....
EDIT- Which one would you say... strictly for a gaming PC:
i cant believe this. i always knew amd would do this too. they HAD to downsize because there is not enough market for their 40-odd procs. when i upgraded my 2800 to a 3400 i JUST missed the last one on newegg. now 754 is all but phased out
